CHRISTMAS CRECHE TEXTILE SCULPTURE
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
These seasonal pieces are molded & crafted from muslin,wire shapes and a special paste and then allowed to dry. Please take note of how carefully the muslin fabric must be handled to create the look of folded fabric and the way in which the robes look as though they have drape to them. After the drying process they are very firm and can be spray painted or handpainted with gold or silver. Cording is used for hair on the angels and also for ties on the shepherds' robes and Joseph's robe and the head pieces. The tallest angel is 18 inches high ;small angels 8 inches high, Mary(holding baby Jesus)/Joseph & shepherds 12 inches high; wisemen 15 inches high (each). Sturdy and gorgeous seasonal pieces. I have made them each five feet high using wire plant holders (firm wire tomato stands) for an altar display. These are beautiful year after year. (One can finish these with jewels for the wisemen and Joseph and the shepherds have wooden staffs that fit into each of their hands.
Mardi Gras (organic pottery)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Fascinating wool & soy fibers knitted and felted to create beautiful & functional bowls, trivets & coasters. It is exciting to explore different shapes and fibers to create something beautiful & useful for home or office. Densely felted these organic pottery pieces offer an appreciation for Nature & an expanding opportunity for unique designs with inspiration from different cultures & traditions. Unique & versatile with a variety of uses. The possibilities are endless. Unique & multi-faceted the knitting & felting process is unpredictable and once I am working with the piece-suddenly I know what works and it becomes art. The smaller bowl nests into the larger bowl for added convenience. (trivets & coasters sprayed on backs with non-skid adhesive for safety)
English Rose Garden (organic pottery)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
This wool & soy organic yarn knitted & felted into a beautiful English Garden theme. How beautifully the colors came through the felting process. These two bowls with a trivet & four coasters remind me of the serenity of a rose garden with the lovely pinks & greens. An organic garden treasure these remind me of roses in an April dawn shimmering with morning dew in an English Rose Garden. The bowls are nested together on the trivet with four coasters tied with wool/soy yarn. Trivet & coaster backs sprayed with non-skid fabric coating ) Thanks for stopping by.
Beyond The Sea (organic pottery)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
The wool/soy organic yarn kniitted & felted into a gorgeous sky, sea & sand theme. The essence of Beyond The Sea is the sea itself stirring powerful memories of Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Sun, sand, sea & sky-what else could it be but inspirational. In my work; I continually explore the relationship & balance which exists between design, shapes & creation. Four coasters & trivet lightly sprayed on backs with non-skid fabric spray. Fun wooly/soy organic stripes!
Citrus Grove (felted ruffled basket)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
How fun to knit & felt these citrus colors & create a basket that is so like a Citrus Grove. Knitted /felted with a lovely yellow wool held together with several novelty yarns & the lovely green novelty yarn gives the basket a grassy look with little colorful pom poms sticking out amongst the grassy areas. The base has a welt edge for strength & durability & the I Cord handle is densely knitted/felted for strength & beauty. A lovely ruffled edge adds to the fun. This is a fun spring ruffled basket which can be used for holidays or in a child's room, tween or teen for their favorite things. Enjoy my Citrus Grove basket.
Peaches & Cream (felted/ruffled basket)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Lovely,yummy (just peachy) Cascade peach yarn held together with Icicle in yellow & beautiful Pom Pom novelty yarn in a variety of (flavors) colors created this 'just peachy' spring ruffled basket. The bottom has a welt for added durability & beauty with an I Cord bind off at the top edge & then a gorgeous ruffle added for the 'piece de re'sistance'. The interior is as beautiful as the exterior. Such a fun basket for any room or holiday-small child/tween or teen. Enjoy! This Icicle novelty yarn is so gorgeous to add to these felted baskets. I Cord handle is densely felted. Thanks for stopping by for 'Peaches & Cream'.
Ruffled Candy Dish
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Knitted/felted with organic wool/soy yarn and a lovely ribbon novelty yarn embellishes the top & ruffled edges. A lovely candy dish which holds a generous amount of candy or nuts. A small dish/plate can be used in the interior for relishes or anything served on your coffee table/holiday table. This makes a lovely hostess gift which can be used year round. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!

Jommi's Kitty-Pie Bed (knitted/felted)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
A lovely wool variegated yarn topped with pink fun fur created this Kitty-Pie Bed for Jommi. Jommi is my adorable grand-kitty & the Kitty-Bed is the Pie and Jommi is the pie filling. A teddie bear & two soft plush kitties are filling the pie in the photo. Jommi is a lovely black & white kitty. She loves her Kitty-Pie Bed & waits for Santa to come to fill her stocking hanging by the fireplace. Enjoy Jommi's Kitty-Pie Bed.
Holiday Baskets
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
These fun knitted/felted holiday baskets are so adorable and I made them with lots of love for Chloe, Georgia & Luke & purchased adorable, soft bunnies in colors to match each basket along with holiday grass to match each basket. These baskets are such fun. The black & red baskets are for Adam & Geoffrey in their school colors with Spiderman (black & red fillable) plastic eggs filled with special items for each boy. How fun! Enjoy!
Southwest Holiday Bowl
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Knitted/felted with organic wool/soy yarn in lovely shades which imitate a southwest sunset this bowl has gorgeous gold beads surrounding the top edge & holds a 1 1/2 quart bowl for holiday table serving. Also can be used as a greeting card holder or holds a large bag of holiday potpourri. Lovely addition to a holiday table or anytime. Lovely hostess gift! Enjoy & thanks for stopping by.
Cool School Colors (spring basket)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Knitting/felting this fun (checkers anyone?) basket was a pleasure for me because my grandson chose his school colors at my local yarn shop. He was eager to have me work with these wool yarns, fun & funky novelty yarns and beads. The base has a welt for added strength & durability & the handle is densely felted & I knitted beads throughtout the top ICORD bind off & the ICord handle for added fun. I look forward to filling it with surprises & giving it to my grandson. Please enjoy! (Made with TLC for Adam & one more for Geoffrey!)
Sac Au Vin (wine sac & wine caddy)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Knitted, felted, needlefelted & beaded this lovely sac and caddy will delight any recipient. Organic wool & soy were used for this lovely set & needlefelting with wool, soy & mohair combined & then beaded to bring a holiday flair to this dynamic denim-like duo. ICORD tie ends are also beaded. Also wonderful for Hanukkah gift giving with the lovely blues & silver combination. (Bases have a non-skid fabric spray.) Enjoy Sac Au Vin! Thanks for stopping by!
Clinging Vines (wine sac & caddy)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Gorgeous organic wool/soy yarn felted into this lovely beverage sac & wine caddy knitted/felted with organic yarns. The knitted/felted vines & berries were added after the felting process to embellish both the beverage sac & caddy. ICord ties are embellished at the ends with seed beads in various colors to compliment the felted yarn. Song lyrics came to mind when I designed this host/hostess set. Dean Martin sang 'Cuddle up a little closer, Lovey mine; cuddle up & be my little Clinging Vine' & because I am a fan of Dean Martin songs I 'felt' it apropos to name this 'Clinging Vines'. Enjoy & thanks for stopping by. Fabulous host/hostess gift with any beverage. Caddy is lovely on the table or buffet.
