Dawn of the Heart

The inherent beauty of a landscape, the intensity of a sunrise, can bind one to the soul of a place. When this place is home, the influence of nature - the subtle movement of trees, sunlight reflecting through winter limbs - can be a calming influence to daily discord. The darkening of approaching conditions and a sense that a storm is on the horizon can also signal that a calmer time will come again. It is a time to look and watch the birds alight in the trees and contemplate the renewal of spring.

'Le Vie en Rose'

Rose-scented geraniums (Pelargonium graveolens), with a delicate, spicy rose-scent came to mind along with 'Le Vie en Rose' (Edith Piaf/french singer) as these gorgeous organic wool/soy yarns felted. These two beautiful bowls with trivet & coasters have a myriad of uses. Rose-scented geranium petals are used for potpourri,preserv... vinegars & sachets. Enjoy my 'rose geranium organic pottery & think of Paris & 'the little French sparrow' singing' Le Vie en Rose'. (No real fragrances used in creating these.) Enjoy!

St. Tropez (organic pottery )

Luscious citrus colors emerged during the felting process with gorgeous wool/soy yarns & I thought of beautiful St. Tropez on the Mediterranean Sea. These two lovely citrus bowls, trivet & coaster set add a touch of the Mediterranean to any room. Filled with citrus scented potpourri they take me back to St. Tropez with its charming little streets & alleys. Early AM at the Place aux Herbes one can find fruits, vegetables & flowers & watch the local fishermen selling their fresh catch. Enjoy a typical Provengal Market in the Place des Lices & festive processions called "Bravades". Enjoy St. Tropez!

It is exciting to explore different shapes and fibers to create something beautiful & useful for home or office. Densely felted these organic pottery pieces offer an appreciation for Nature & an expanding opportunity for unique designs with inspiration from different cultures & traditions. Unique & versatile with a variety of uses. The possibilities are endless. Unique & multi-faceted the knitting & felting process is unpredictable and once I am working with the piece-suddenly I know what works and it becomes art. The smaller bowl nests into the larger bowl for added convenience. (trivets & coasters sprayed on back sides with non-skid adhesive for safety)

Staghorn Coral Ocean Reef (organic pottery)

I knitted & felted this beautiful varigated wool and soy organic yarn and the concept of working with something so directly from nature inspired the artist in me to name this pottery after an ocean reef. The Great Barrier Reef in the Coral Sea forms a natural breakwater for the coast of Australia and contains coral gardens and unusual marine life. It is the largest reef in the world. Of the many hundreds of varieties of coral growing on the reef, the Staghorn (antler type) is one of the most common. The Great Barrier Reef is a true wonderland of color and beauty. This organic yarn knitted & felted into a beautiful oceanic reef pattern and I can hear the ocean and see the many beautiful sea creatures and plant life come out in this wool and soy as it felted and the Staghorn coral concept jumped out at me and longed to be part of these beautiful color combinations. Thank you for sharing in nature with me through these organic creations. (non skid fabric backing)

Calfuray (ruffled basket)

Calfuray (kal-foo-RAW-ee) means 'violet flower' in Mapuche. This lovely spring basket is knitted/felted with gorgeous purple wool & several novelty yarns held together. The base has a knitted welt-ridge for stability & an I cord top edge which gives the basket durability/strength & beauty. The I Cord handle is densely felted & lovely! Great holiday basket or purse for a young girl, tween or teen. Mapuche peoples live in Chile & Argentina. Enjoy this lovely basket!

Garden Party Basket

A lovely basket, knitted/felted with a green base with welt for durability & a densely felted I Cord handle kniitted & then added before the felting process began. The loveliness of this basket is emphasized by the many tiny novelty yarn flowers which look like a lilac garden in the spring. This basket will be used for a baby shower & I knitted very soft baby washcloths in pastel colors to insert into this basket. There will be five pastel cotton washcloths when the knitting is completed. They stick out from the top of the basket looking like petals on a flower. There are so many uses for these lovely baskets. Enjoy this Garden Party!

Rafet's Kitty-Pie Bed (knitted/felted)

Knitted/felted kitty-pie bed is just the right size for Rafet who is my beautiful golden/orange tabby grand-kitty. The beautiful variegated wool yarn knitted/felted along with the orange fun-fur to make a soft bed for Rafet to sleep in while waiting for Santa. It felted down to 15 inches in diameter which is a good size for this lovely kitty. Enjoy Rafet's Kitty-Pie Bed. The bed is the pie and Rafet is the kitty filling.

Vines & Berries (wine sack & wine caddy)

Knitted, felted & needlefelted in gorgeous shades of greens, pinks, etc. I enjoy the endless, unique possibilities with felting & took a huge step to knit & felt the vines and berries which look totally awesome & 3-dimentional needlefelted onto the front of this wine sack & matching wine caddy (for tabletop display) which is a wonderful way to present a bottle of wine, champagne or any beverage in a bottle for a host, hostess or a housewarming gift. I used gorgeous alpaca for the base of both wine sack & caddy and then wooly stripes up to the ICORD top embellished with an ICORD tie which has beautiful swarovski cyrstal beads at the tips in shades of pinks & greens. Enjoy Vines & Berries wine sack & wine caddy! It's the berries!

Harvest Splendor

Knitted/felted triangular bowl with warm autumnal tones & organic CORN yarn (cornucopia) added for a true harvest theme. Large enough for a bag of cinnamon pinecones, potpourri, popcorn or any family treat. A lovely addition to one's fall table setting/Thanksgiv... A fun triangular shape densely felted. After total drying I needelfelted the entire exterior of the bowl with ROVING in autumnal colors. While walking I found a beautiful Maple Leaf and I made a template from the leaf and needlefelted a Maple leaf to the bottom of this lovely harvest bowl. This would be a lovely place for a side dish , rolls/breads, salad for Thanksgiving or any table setting or a lovely harvest bouquet. Endless useful possibilities. The bottom of this sculpted bowl felted like velvet. Very lovely yarn & the needlefelted Maple leaf adds to the harvest theme. Thanks for stopping by.

Knitted/felted Cotton Candy ruffled basket is just too adorable and fun. Gorgeous pink wool & several novelty yarns complete this colorful basket which can be used for holidays and little girls' rooms all year long. Tweens & teens would find this fun for holding items in their rooms.The large ruffle at the top is so beautiful with the pink wool & pink fun fur bling yarn held together. An I Cord bind off at the top edge keeps the basket so sturdy & the I Cord handle is densely felted to stand on its own. The base has a knitted ridge for added strength. ' Toot Sweet' has a sturdy welt-ridge base and then flows into fun fur & then into a colorful' jelly bean' basket with a very lovely ruffle and densely felted I cord handle. Also use it for holidays. Raspberry Swirl Vase

Using gorgeous organic yarn in wool & soy I knitted & feltd this lovely vase with picot top edge. It is 9 inches high & the base is 5 inches across. Fun to knit & felt & there are many uses for this vase. You can insert a plastic or glass container and use the felted vase for cut flowers or in your office, bathroom, guestroom with silk felted flowers added. Pencils, knitting needles & many other uses-use your imagination. I used double stands of wool yarn to make a more densely felted vase. Enjoy! I will be shaving the vase when it dries & adding a flower created with roving & beading. If you use a solid yarn you can add novelty yarns to this pattern. It will be a fun gift for someone special. Enjoy! Check out the photo with the top edge because the pink is so dense and gorgeous!
