A lovely small, over-the-shoulder bag knitted, felted, cut, stitched, embroidered & needlefelted with a lovely, long, embroidered, felted shoulder strap & small zipper top closure with a wet-felted decorative ball attached for easy opening & a lovely fashion fabric lines the interior. Coin purse, cell phone, IPOD holder,keys & lip gloss-small bag-about five by eight inches. Beads added around the needlefelting for lovely embellishment. A floral wooden button embellishes the needlefelting. A small, fun. over-the-shoulder bag completely hand-stitched. Enjoy! This is a fun bag!

Gypsy Tambourine Felted Bag

A brilliant deep orange-red yarn knitted into this fun bag with its forty inch over-the-shoulder strap. After knitting & felting the pieces are cut and hand stitched to create this one-of-a-kind knitted, felted, hand-embroidered, needelfelted bag with French knots around the top exterior edge & small shells attached to look like jingles on a tambourine. I needelfelted the flower to the front and then placed a brilliant purple & silver fashion button in the center. I hand-stitched purple & orange metallic seed beads embellishing the flower's edges. The over-the-shoulder strap has an embroidered chain stitch with gorgeous yarn in rusts & purples which accent the orange-red bag. A zipper closure has a wet felted ball attached for ease in opening & the interior is lined with a fun fashion fabric. A perfect bag for anytime and holds smalls items in a lovely way. Desert Wildflowers Bag

Living in San Diego, we witnessed the beauty of the Anza-Borrego Desert in bloom with its colorful carpet of spring flowers. Stunningly magnificent; desert wildflowers & gorgeous insects drifiting from flower to flower is nature's palette. In knitting/felting/... this bag I attempted to capture the essence of the desert in bloom. My felted bags are not mass produced & due to the nature of the fibres & material used, each is a unique creation/design. An adjustable ICORD handle may be used double or pulled through to tie at the side (adjustable tie) for a lovely over-the shoulder look. The interior is exquisitely detailed with magnetic snap, reinforced , (hand tie-dyed) fabric covered base , two interior pockets & top edged interior trim. A fashionable, fun bag. A deep purple base of a desert evening gives way to the desert dawn's natural wildflower splendor and a lovely dragonfly fashion pendant embellishes the novelty yarn embroidered flap. Enjoy!

'La Boheme' (felted sweater shoulder bag)

A precious, vintage wool sweater washed & felted into a beautiful fabric that I cut to create this lovely metamorphis from a wool sweater to a lovely Bohemian (hand embellished) handbag. Completely handstitched with a lovely interior top edge & exterior top edge gold trim. No sewing machine or embellisher was used-all handstitched. Lovely shell beads trim the front and back middle of this creation & several embroidery/crewel stitches & needlefelting add to the Bohemian look & fun of this bag. The handle has tiny floral embellisments the length of the handle & each side has a knotted/fringed twist which comes through beautifully to embellish & strengthen the shoulder strap. Recycled from a precious wool sweater this was such fun to design. I think of the opera 'La Boheme' when I look at it & the beauty of the music. Interior pocket is the neck edge of the sweater. A lovely knitted/felted/ne... bag with a 40 inch over-the shoulder strap is 6 inches wide/8 inches high with a zippered top embellished with a wet felted ball for ease in opening. Lined with a gorgeous silk fabric in blues to harmonize with the rhapsody. Hand needlefelted design is embellished with beads in silver & blues. Small French Knots are hand embroidered around the lower top edge & the 40 inch handle is hand embroidered with lovely novelty yarns in blues. A fun bag for over-the shoulder or even over the head & worn to the side for comfort. Lies flat against the body. Ideal for IPOD, cell phone, camera & lipstick/gloss. Solresol (felted/embroidered bag)

I knitted a lovely sweater in gorgeous, rainbow colors then felted it & cut cut it into smaller pieces to create this lovely handstitched, embroidered ,embellished over-the-shoulder bag in Solresol which is a universal language created by Jean Francois Sudre. Each word in this language is composed of some of the seven notes of the musical scale & each of the seven notes is also represented by one of the seven colors of the rainbow. You can communicate in Solresol via a sequence of colors. Several messages are hidden in the colors of this Solresol bag. (frm mls - to be loved/one message) Enjoy!

A portion of the felted sweater became a Solresol accessory bag for the larger bag. The button on this accessory matches the buttons on the front & back of the larger Solresol bag. The beautiful Solresol language consists of seven syllables-the notes of the scale (do-re-mi-fa-so-l... (we changed it to 'ti'). Sudre also devised a means for translating ROYGBIV, the colors of the rainbow, with Solresol syllables so that every tapestry, painting, splash of color takes on literal meaning. Mila la sidomido lasi Solresol! Enjoy! Great IPOD holder! My son gave me this IPOD and I am certainly enjoying it! Wow-it's RED(monies go to fight AIDS in Africa)!

Vase with Flowers (still life felted bag)

Inspired by the impressionist painters a 40" over-the shoulder strap & a 6x8 " felted bag became my 'canvas' for a Van Gogh sunflower still life. Van Gogh began painting a series of sunflower oils in 1888. Sunflowers were his flower of choice. He wanted to decorate his studio with sunflowers. A series of Van Gogh paintings in 1888 is identified only as 'Sunflowers'. This knitted/felted/em... bag is lovely & fun. A wet felted ball is attached to the zippered closure & the fashion fabric lining coordinates with the colors in the stilllife. Enjoy my attempt at a Van Gogh still life-'Sunflowers'. Schloss Neuschwanstein Castle (needlepoint)

Large needlepoint work of Schloss Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria. This piece took three years to complete and is framed under glass to protect the work which will be handed down to my children. 'Mad" Ludwig's famous castle in Bavaria was used in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty". "Cinderella", "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and other movies and television shows. Neuschwanstein Castle, royal palace in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, the most famous of three royal palaces built for Louis II of Bavaria, sometimes referred to as Mad King Ludwig, who grew up nearby at Hohenschwangau Castle. It is located in one of the most beautiful areas in the world and is on the list to become one of the Wonders of the World. Thank you for stopping by to view this artistic endeavor. Proud of my Scandinavian heritage I completed this set of Norwegian & Swedish counted cross stitch pieces with TLC. Counted cross stitch transfers a design from a printed graph onto evenweave fabric. The stitcher uses embroidery floss to place X's on the fabric corresponding to symbols on the chart. Each symbol on the chart represents one X on the fabric. The different styles of symbols on the chart represent different colors of floss.Cross stitch is easy to learn and requires only a few supplies. These make lovely gifts & keepsakes. Represented here are two Dala horses (red & blue) which are traditional Swedish keepsakes; a Norwegian Viking Ship; Viking (norseman), & Swedish flag. Thanks for stopping by.

Hardanger , Crewel & Counted Cross Stitch Embroidery

Hardanger embroidery or 'Hardangersom' is a form of embroidery traditionally worked with white thread on white evenweave cloth but colored cloth is now popular. Crewel embroidery is done with a stamped pattern on the cloth and then embroidery stitches added to create the various designs. Counted Cross Stitch is another form of embroidery. Hardanger is thought to have originated in ancient Persia & during the Renaissance spread to Italy. These make wonderful gifts/keepsakes. Please enjoy!

Rococo Revival (felted/embellished clutch)

This lovely Rococo style clutch is a lovely felted sweater totally freehand cut & hand stitched/embellished to give it the light & frivolous look of the Rococo art period of painters/artists like Jean-Honore' Fragonard who painted the lovely Rococo painting 'The Swing' in 1767 during the Rococo period corresponding to the reign of Louis XV of France. In decoration the fully fledged style is characterized by decoration based on arabesques, elaborate curves, symmetry and irridescent pastel colors-very light-hearted. The handle is a golden cord and a tassel adorns each side of this clutch which has an interior pocket & a lovely gold button with a floral design complimenting the Rococo artistic period. Hand embellished with many stitch variations & several yarns & threads. This lovely Rococo Revival was inspired by the many paintings I saw in the Louvre in Paris. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by.
