Under The Tuscan Sun

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN is a KNITTED/FELTED THEME TOTE. This lovely tote is knitted and felted (fulled) with gorgeous wool yarns combined with novelty yarns to create this one of a kind theme bag/tote. Felting (fulling) is an age old process in which the piece is knitted then felted in hot water to create these beautiful totes and bags. This age old process has come full circle and with all the new yarns on the market it makes this process challenging and a creative endeavor.

Santa Fe Sunset

This dramatic tote was knitted/felted with gorgeous wools together with ribbon novelty yarn. In my mind I can see the mountain sunsets of New Mexico reflected in this felted tote. The interior continues the theme with two lovely knitted/felted pockets and a twice reinforced sunset fabric covered foamcore/web base for added strength,durability and beauty. Knitted I CORD handles continue the beauty of a SANTA FE SUNSET and shell fashion buttons in copper give this bag a sunset glow.

Monet's Garden

I studied ART HISTORY at the University of Minnesota and Claude Monet has always been one of my favorite IMPRESSIONIST masters. Knitting this tote; I attempted to capture the splendor of MONET'S beautiful gardens and it is reminiscent of many of his paintings of flowering gardens, parks and groves. Lovely wool yarns combine with novelty yarns knitted/felted create this impressionistic landscape tote.

Over The Rainbow

"SOMEDAY I'LL WISH UPON A STAR" but until then I knitted and felted this lovely tote with the rainbow at the top left edge of the front and the Emerald City in the right top edge both surrounded by clouds and a knitted/felted storm at the very top edge. Two lovely fashion pins highlight the Emerald City: Ruby Slippers with Glynda's (the good witch's) wand. Dorothy taps the ruby slippers and goes home because she know's "there's no place like home & a Toto fashion pin both by the Emerald City and the yellow brick road. From the base upwards one can revisit the LAND OF OZ with the colorful flowers and the yellow brick road under the EMERALD CITY and the rainbow. Knitted/felted with lovely wool yarns combined with several novelty yarns. The theme continues in the interior knitted pockets and the beautiful fabric covered foamcore interior bottom has strength, durabilty and beauty. Knitted & felted and then detailing begins with an interior knitted/felted pocket handstitched to the interior which has a lovey fabric covered foamcore base for added strength, durability & beauty. Fringe Benefits Chic Shawl

Lovely deep purples,turquoise... and gorgeous copper yarns combined in a knitted rectangle with eight inch drops at one side creating the 'fringe benefits'. Closing the rectangle at one side provides for a shawl that does not slip off when worn and leaves the arms and hands free. The knitting is open and loose so this shawl/sharf/poncho drapes when worn on or off the shoulder. Gorgeous with black for a very dramatic, dressy look. A SHARF is a knitting term describing a wearable piece which combines a shawl/scarf look.

EBBTIDE'S A LINE DESIGN lends to the total theme of of an ocean beach. The bottom of the bag is the ocean (blue color), the body of the bag is the sandy beach with gorgeous handpainted wools combined with a copper novelty thread , Three large ruffles form the waves washing up onto the sandy shore and the flap continues the ocean theme with a ruffled edge and JOY yarn (shades of rust,copper) held together with the handpainted wool to create ocean seaweed with tiny seashell buttons intertwined in the seaweed and three seagulls stitched to the top edge of the flap as they fly over the ocean. Four I CORD handles compliment the ocean theme and the large seashell pendant is sewn to the front of the flap for added oceananic beauty. Bead Me Up (fashion bag)

Roomy enough for daytime & stylish enough for evening I crocheted this black bag & then beaded a lovely applique with seed beads & bugle beads to embellish the front of this bag. The handles are plastic tubing with black crochet around them. The interior is lined in black fabric with a small pocket. A key chain hooks around one of the handles and is embellished with a black, crocheted flower attached. You can attach charms to this key chain also for further embellishment. Simply Charming

A special order for several black bags inspired this beaded amulet bag. Knitted & crocheted; this amulet bag has a drawstring top edge & also an over-the-shoulder strap which can be made longer or shorter by knotting the cord. I hand stitched three appliques with seed beads, bugle beads & gemstones & then stitched the appliques to the front of this bag. They can be easily removed so other charms, pins or whatever you like can be added to embellish. This bag is lined & has one interior pocket. Enjoy Simply Charming. Thanks for stopping by.

Piet Mondrian Fingerless Gloves

I knitted three more sets of fingerless mitts/gauntlets and the cables turned out beautifully. The one with the primary colors is named Piet Mondrian because he was an artist who painted with primary colors. The one done in beige & other beautiful colors is really a beautiful yarn which creates these beautiful colors as I knit. The last pair I knitted from NORO Silk Garden which is stunning yarn. Chantilly Lace Fingerless Mitts

I knitted these lovely lace patterned fingerless mitts when I was attempting to design fingerless mitts for bridesmaids for a wedding in October. The bride will be wearing white fingerless mitts but these are only for my use. The bridesmaids will be wearing black & white. I also knitted a white lace garter for the bride. These fingerless mitts are knitted in all cotton variegated yarn. I hand stitched lovely green seed beads around the top edge and around the thumb gusset. I embroidered French knots around the lower top edge to highlight the seed beads. I also knitted ICORDS 8-10 inches long & placed seed beads at each end for embellishment. The ICORD pulls through to tighten the mitt on the wrist area.
