English Tea Garden Party

Lovely organic wool & soy yarns were used to create this lovely Garden Party knitted & felted bag. I knit & felted three flowers in the shades of the bag & combined them into one flower to embellish the front. The fringe is cut & added to the top edge ICORD bindoff before the felting process. This bag is very roomy & has one long ICORD handle which pulls through for two handles or for one. A lovely fashion button embellishes the flower pin (shades of purple & pink). Enjoy English Tea Garden Party reminding me of high tea in London, England. (pretty with or without the flower pin & the fringe is funky, felted & fun!)

Lake Harriet, the Bandshell and Rosegarden

TOTE/CARPET BAG knitted,felted & needle felted in a variety of gorgeous yarns & ROVING to produce this theme tote depicting beautiful LAKE HARRIET in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lake Harriet, the walking path, road, bandshell and the beautiful rose garden ( satin roses are knitted and felted into this tote) depict a lovely respite in our City of Lakes. This is a very large tote which can be used for overnight, carry on or just to get a multiple of items from one place to the next in style. The beautiful Lake Harriet Bandshell was knitted & felted separately and then pieces cut to create the bandshell & then needle felted to give it a three dimentional look. It is surrounded by massive tree lined beauty and the large glass window reflects the blue of Lake Harriet . Two lovely I Cord handles & two lovely blue shell buttons complete the top edge & the interior has two lovely, large pockets. Summer breezes & symphonic sounds waft through this popular lakeside area.

Knitted/felted in a fun ,versatile shape and ready to go with jeans or any outfit. Vintage buttons from my Grandmother's sewing box secure the flap that I embellished with Trio novelty ribbon in a blanket stitch around the flap & top edge. The interior has a lovely knitted/felted pocket together with the Trio novelty ribbon in shades of blue. A fun bag! Thanks for stopping by!

This fun knitted/felted bag has a thick, gorgeous ruffle embellishing the bottom. Four different shades of blue wool yarns held together knitting this bag. A fun handle knitted/felted widens at sides and narrows in top middle and is a great shoulder bag. An I Cord runs through the top edge and forms a large loop which comes over the top edge to catch a lovely blue shell fashion button. An interior pocket completes this Blues On Parade theme. Knitted/felted with beautiful denim look yarn held together with a fun Fling yarn in shades of blues & whites that creates the look of sea life. A lovely flap with three button holes & three beautiful silver buttons add to the look of denim & silver-a lovely combination. I chose these buttons which remind me of dubloons (treasure from the sea). This bag is very roomy, fun & functional. Aphrodite , a Grecian goddess of the sea is associated with all the creatures of the sea. She represents the sea which is life giving & is the goddess of love & beauty. 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Messenger Bag

Knitted/felted with gorgeous tones of teal,purple wool & purple/silver mohair this messenger bag has a fabulous flap taking on the look of barnacles & seaweed (dreadlocks) giving it the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Jack Sparrow flair. Several pockets & a twice reinforced base is covered in complimenting fabric taking on the look of the sea. This was an amazing bag to knit & felt & I was very pleased with the exquisite flap with all of the bobbles & fringe felted to look like barnacles & dreadlocks. Daisy A Day

Knitted/felted vintage bubble bag pattern is reminiscent of a flower garden. My mother-in-law loved daisies & had a garden full of them so with the three lovely daisy fashion buttons the colors in this bag look very much like her flower garden. Daisies are such friendly flowers. The knitted/felted scalloped flap has three button holes and two I Cord handles run through the top edge and are tied like small rosettes in the front and back top edges of this fun/flowery bag. Novelty yarn crocheted around the button holes looks like the daisy buttons are in a garden & the top edge is also embellished with 'flowers'. Large interior pocket embellished also. Enjoy! Primrose Lane

A lovely evening (afternoon tea/wedding) bag designed/created from wool felt cut into shape & machine stitched into a small bag. I hand embellished this small evening bag with needlefelting, pink floral beads, fashion pins/buttons/ & tiny pearls handstiched onto the front of the flap as tiny roses adorn the very edge of the flap & a twisted loop for fashion button closure. Using a lucite handle I cut two pieces of wool felt & made loops to hold the handle. This bag is very Victorian and appropriately named for a flower called the Primrose which is one of the earliest spring flowers in Europe. Also named after the song by Jerry Wallace called: Primrose Lane." "life's a holiday on Primrose Lane" Enjoy!

EBBTIDE'S A LINE DESIGN lends to the total theme of of an ocean beach. The bottom of the bag is the ocean (blue color), the body of the bag is the sandy beach with gorgeous handpainted wools combined with a copper novelty thread , Three large ruffles form the waves washing up onto the sandy shore and the flap continues the ocean theme with a ruffled edge and JOY yarn (shades of rust,copper) held together with the handpainted wool to create ocean seaweed with tiny seashell buttons intertwined in the seaweed and three seagulls stitched to the top edge of the flap as they fly over the ocean. Four I CORD handles compliment the ocean theme and the large seashell pendant is sewn to the front of the flap for added oceananic beauty. The interior continues the ocean theme with lovely knitted/felted pockets & a twice reinforced interior fabric covered base for strength, durability and beauty.

Blue Bayou The Big Easy

The Big Easy, Crescent City, New Orleans-call it what you may and with this piece I attempted to capture the essence of the Louisiana bayou and its timeless beauty. With the bayous & the Cajun "joie de vivre" this work attempts to reveal some of the mysteries of the swamps, trees & Cajun music with this washboard look to the flap on this work. In my attempt to capture the "bon temps" (good times) I have experienced in New Orleans I added a beautiful set of silver beads knitted and felted around the base of this work and also added silver beads to the lower edge of the flap. The fringed flap expresses my love for the southern trees with Spanish moss hanging down from the branches. The wonderful sense of history & life of New Orleans has influenced the arts from writings of George W. Cable,Lafcadio Hearn, Grace Elizabeth King & an endless variety of artists with infinite genres. The interior of this piece continues the Bayou theme with the lovely Creole fabric I purchased in New Orleans.

Calypso (sea nymph)

Reminiscent of "a sea nymph" from Homer's "Odyessy" and the sea nympth CALYPSO. This turquoise "odyessy" depicts an oceanic theme with turquoise, purple, blues and black wools and novelty yarns complimented with a purple I Cord flap holder highlighted with two vintage buttons. The nubbiness of the flap denotes oceananic barnacles created by combining gorgeous wool with a novelty yarn felted together. Two I CORD handles knitted/felted with turquoise & purple wool and tied rosettes hold the handles in place in the front and back of this lovely bag. An interior pocket continues the oceanic theme and a reinforced base covered in lovely oceanic theme fabric completes this piece. One of a kind! A Showstopper!

Pony Express Messenger Bag

Pony Express Messenger Bag, was specifically knitted/felted with gorgeous subtle neutral tones using exquisitely beautiful wool yarns to pay homage to a great time in our country when the pony express riders began to carry mail on horseback in April of 1860. That time in history was brief but picturesque and the pony express lives in legend as well as history. With this messenger bag I pay homage to that time and to the manager of the pony express-Alexander Majors of Kentucky. You will not need a horse to carry this beautiful bag and it is a modern version of an old messenger tradition. This computer/notebook bag contains two interior pockets, knitted/felted in the same gorgeous yarns and the pockets handstitched to each interior side of the bag where the three inch wide knitted/felted strap is handstitched to the bag after the felting process. Knitted in a lovely striping pattern the interior is as lovely as the exterior. The interior base is reinforced with canvas webbing and also with lovely fabric covered needlepoint foamcore for added strength, durability (also reminiscent of pony express riders). The flap attaches to the bag with two gold magnetic clasps and the exterior of the flap is embellished with two russet colored wooden fashion buttons to add beauty and a sign of the old west with its gorgeous, open range countryside. The two interior pockets can hold a computer/notebook cord and the battery charger. Stylish, unique and very much a part of our nation's history one can imagine crossing this beautiful country on horseback carrying invaluable information. Pony Express Messenger Bag-a timeless piece.

Broadway Melody , a large tote/overnight/ca... recreates the aesthetic manner of the Broadway theatre district of New York City. Reds and blacks feature the Broadway theatre scene beginning with the base of the bag in black and at the lower base in white and black are piano keys running across the lower bottom and three inches down from the top (another set of piano keys). The front edges of this tote depict a theatre marquis and then the body of the bag is Broadway streets and lights with wool yarns felted together with hundreds of sequins knitted along with the wool and felted together to create the illusion of Broadway in the evening lights of New York City streets and as the bag's theme continues into the top we see the pinks and purples of the Broadway lights reflected in the evening sky. Two lovely vintage buttons are crossed over with gold and black I CORD twists. A vinatge pin with three dancers adorns the right top of this bag and they seem to be beckoning to yo
