Clinging Vines (wine sac & caddy)
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Gorgeous organic wool/soy yarn felted into this lovely beverage sac & wine caddy knitted/felted with organic yarns. The knitted/felted vines & berries were added after the felting process to embellish both the beverage sac & caddy. ICord ties are embellished at the ends with seed beads in various colors to compliment the felted yarn. Song lyrics came to mind when I designed this host/hostess set. Dean Martin sang 'Cuddle up a little closer, Lovey mine; cuddle up & be my little Clinging Vine' & because I am a fan of Dean Martin songs I 'felt' it apropos to name this 'Clinging Vines'. Enjoy & thanks for stopping by. Fabulous host/hostess gift with any beverage. Caddy is lovely on the table or buffet.

Amazing Grapes will make a lovely presentation with any beverage included. Please enjoy Amazing Grapes.

)
Knitted/felted with organic wool/soy yarns & needlefelted with gorgeous wool roving which embellishes the front of the duo with lovely autumnal leaves. Seed beads embellish the tie ends with amazingly beautiful colors. The autumn leaves add so much to this lovely duo which can be used for any beverage & makes a wonderful holiday host/hostess gift. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy Wrap It Up!
Mardi Gras Ruffled Scarf
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
I chose a lovely and very colorful yarn to create these exquisitely fun ruffles and ridges. I began with 200 stitches & continued to increase until I had 1400 stitches that I was knitting and then casting off. It is quite the process but well worth it. This is a fun scarf & goes around my black coat many times for both warmth and lots of color. It truly looks like Mardi Gras time with a carnival flair. Very soft and fun to wear. Enjoy my Mardi Gras Scarf. Thanks for stopping by.
The Rose
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
"The Rose' felted art is inspired by the song and the 1979 movie;"The Rose". In this piece there is a river & in the song-"some say love it is a river" & the lyrics also say "love is a hunger" but also like the song lyrics say: " I say love it is a flower and you its only seed...& the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live...then just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows, lies the seed that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes "The Rose". This piece attempts to prepare the viewer for 'joie de vivre' or the literal French translation: joy of living'. For, in life, we live, we laugh & we love & when there is a winter in our lives it will pass and the light will shine and bring us: "The Rose
Ju-Xian
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Ju-Xian, is an ancient Chinese city whose name means "chrysanthemum city". This flower was introduced to Japan around the 8th century A.D. & the Emperor adopted the chrysanthemum as his official seal. There is a 'Festival of Happiness" in Japan which celebrates this lovely flower. It was brought to Europe in the 17th century. Linnaeus (botanist), named it for the Greek prefix 'Chrys' which means 'golden' (the color of the original flower) & 'anthemon' meaning 'flower'. The flower is called Oogiku in Japanese meaning big Chrysanthemum. This is a lovely, large bag with a gorgeous interior fabric base continuing the Chrysanthemum theme. Enjoy!
"A River Runs Through It"
(

A cathartic work, this piece represents my younger years in Montana watching my older brother fly fishing in the gorgeous Gallatin River. The river,ripples,& bedrock are all represented in this piece & I can see my brother's fly fishing rod & the line rhythmically dancing & the heat mirages on the river dancing with and through each other. I feel patterns of my own life joining with them. The stories of life are like this river & I touch the water & the ripples grown larger & drift silently away from my fingertips & I know that eventually all things merge into one as Big Sky Montana, Ponderosa Pines, the bedrock (flap) & the river encircle me & eventually all merge as A River Runs Through It. Visiting China & Hong Kong I purchased batik cloth & the blues in the fabric line the interior base carrying on the river theme. Two silver Hushco buttons adorn the front flap. This gorgeous yarn stripes with shades of blue representing the river & the strap & flap edges ripple like the river & therefore, in this work..".A River Runs Through It "( a book by Norman Maclean)
Cleopatra
(

)
Designed, knitted and felted with regal, royal purple wools combined with rich purple novelty yarns held throughout the body of the bag. Rich turquoise and purple novelty yarn adds contrast and compliments the top edge and handles. A rich purple fabric covers the needlepoint foam core interior base. The lovely turquoise and purple handle runs through the top edge and the handle can be worn doubled or pulled through for an over the shoulder look. These photos were taken before I added the gorgeous interior fabric to the foamcore bottom of this lovely, regal bag.
Ruffled Iris Scarf
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
A lovely basketweave/check... pattern which knits up like magic (ruffles & ridges) created this yummy, luscious scarf which should be called 'Lemon Meringue'. It knitted so beautifully with this gorgeous varigated (self-striping) yarn which is so soft & luxurious to wear. With the lovely colors this scarf will work beautifully into spring. The basic basketweave scarf pattern is knitted and the ruffled edge is crocheted when the knitting is completed. These lovely spring colors remind me of my ruffled iris flowers which are so gorgeous. Enjoy my basketweave scarf pattern done in these lovely colors. Thanks for stopping by.
Snowflake Afghan
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
I crocheted this lovely vintage afghan pattern in one piece and it is so lovely when finished. This is an intricate pattern but fun to do because it is challenging. It is lacy looking but nice & warm to cuddle under while creating/designing other things or reading a good book. I have crocheted many of these as bridal shower/wedding gifts & also one that has a pineapple pattern throughout. Enjoy this vintage (pattern) Snowflake Afghan.
Botticelli's Venus Scarf
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
This art scarf is knitted in two pieces and then grafted together in the middle where I then knitted two rufffles which look like a lovely flower. The knitted shells on either end of this scarf represent the shell Venus is standing on in Botticelli's painting circa 1480. I knitted this scarf with a lovely, pink silk yarn that is so soft to the touch & wonderful around one's neck on a summer day or evening. Enjoy!
Brush Strokes Scarf/Shawl
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
A lovely white mohair yarn & a truly fun, funky & extremely colorful novelty yarn were used to knit this lovely scarf/shawl. Ruffles surround the edges & give the shawl a hint of romance. This shawl is very soft, lightweight & warm. The colors are gorgeous and intense and look like the tip of an artist's paint brush dripping with every color one can imagine. It was fun to design & use this wonderful novelty yarn which adds so much to this scarf/shawl. Enjoy Brush Strokes!
Razzle- Dazzle'Em
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Razzle-Dazzle'Em with this fun & flashy bag knitted with a gorgeous deep green wool together with two novelty yarns to give it the ole' razzle dazzle. A perfect bag for the holidays or anytime you need a bit of pizazz. Interior base is twice reinforced and has a lovely silver sequinned fabric covering. Two lovely, clear handles, two gorgeous top edge ruffles & a fun & funky sequinned, silver bling pin embellishes the top edge. Truly a fun bag & very roomy for a night out on the town or daytime luncheon. Enjoy Razzle-Dazzle-Em! Fun to design this one! Splendiferous & Stunning!
Fur Get Me Knots Scarves
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Fabulous colors imitating fur which often times is dyed in many hues these scarves are knit with three strands of novelty yarns held together. They are very light weight, soft and fun to wear with a sweater, jacket or coat.
No animals were hurt creating these fun' Fur Get Me Knots' scarves. Enjoy! Fun to make and fun to wear to jazz up any outfit for any occasion.
Holiday Ruffled Candy Dish
(
KnottyladyDesigns...
)
Knitted/felted with organic wool/soy yarn in gorgeous, warm hues of pinks & purples self-striping into this lovely & versatile dish. I used a gorgeous novelty yarn for the top sides and the edge of the ruffle. Really added some bling/beauty! Useful at any time of the year but a lovely addition to your holiday table holding whatever you wish. Insert a plastic or glass dish to hold relishes or sauce at your holiday table/buffet. This one I knitted deeper than the previous one. Very versatile. Enjoy!
