These seasonal pieces are molded & crafted from muslin, wire shapes and a special paste and then allowed to dry. Please take note of how carefully the muslin fabric must be handled to create the look of folded fabric and the way in which the robes look as though they have drape to them. After the drying process they are very firm and can be spray painted or handpainted with gold or silver. Cording is used for hair on the angels and also for ties on the shepherds' robes and Joseph's robe and the head pieces. The tallest angel is 18 inches high ;small angels 8 inches high, Mary(holding baby Jesus)/Joseph & shepherds 12 inches high; wisemen 15 inches high (each). Sturdy and gorgeous seasonal pieces. I have made them each five feet high using wire plant holders (firm wire tomato stands) for an altar display. These are beautiful year after year. (One can finish these with jewels for the wisemen and Joseph and the shepherds have wooden staffs that fit into each of their hands.

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers, mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN". My theme bags/totes are exciting to create but I have other artistic creations that I will enjoy sharing with you. Thank You for stopping by. Patricia Maxwell
