An etui was a small needlecase used by the sailors in the 1800's to mend the ship's sails. These etuis were small & fit into the sailor's pocket. I designed a large pattern and crafted this ETUI for an office setting with many places to put things. The theme of this is astrological and each side holds an office supply and the center box holds pens/pencils/magnifying glass etc. The inside of the lid is decorated with astrological minature pieces such as stars and moons to compliment the exterior fabric and to show off the beautiful blue fabric lining. These are one of a kind and definitely a conversation piece. A true Showstopper.

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers, mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN". My theme bags/totes are exciting to create but I have other artistic creations that I will enjoy sharing with you. Thank You for stopping by. Patricia Maxwell
