"The Rose' felted art is inspired by the song and the 1979 movie;"The Rose". In this piece there is a river & in the song-"some say love it is a river" & the lyrics also say "love is a hunger" but also like the song lyrics say: " I say love it is a flower and you its only seed...& the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live...then just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows, lies the seed that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes "The Rose". This piece attempts to prepare the viewer for 'joie de vivre' or the literal French translation: joy of living'. For, in life, we live, we laugh & we love & when there is a winter in our lives it will pass and the light will shine and bring us: "The Rose

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers,mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN".
