This lovely shawl is knitted in a palette of impressionist colors on two needles knitting back and forth without turning my work. Two yarns were used and one was carried up the edge and caught with the next set of stitches back and forth creating a lovely impressionist palette with novelty yarns swirling out at strategic areas giving this shawl an airy, whimsical & romantic look. I added fringe to each end and each side is hand knit ruffles giving this a lovely look for any time of the day or evening. My attempt at impressionism with yarns & impressionism's 'en plein air' attempts to emphasize vivid overall effects to achieve an intense color vibration expressing a bright & varied use of color. This wearable attempt at impressionism expresses a bright & varied use of this color palette. Thanks for stopping by.

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers, mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN". My theme bags/totes are exciting to create but I have other artistic creations that I will enjoy sharing with you. Thank You for stopping by. Patricia Maxwell
