Knitted/felted with gorgeous tones of teal,purple wool & purple/silver mohair this messenger bag has a fabulous flap taking on the look of barnacles & seaweed (dreadlocks) giving it the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Jack Sparrow flair. Several pockets & a twice reinforced base is covered in complimenting fabric taking on the look of the sea. This was an amazing bag to knit & felt & I was very pleased with the exquisite flap with all of the bobbles & fringe felted to look like barnacles & dreadlocks. Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers,mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN".
