I chose a lovely and very colorful yarn to create these exquisitely fun ruffles and ridges. I began with 200 stitches & continued to increase until I had 1400 stitches that I was knitting and then casting off. It is quite the process but well worth it. This is a fun scarf & goes around my black coat many times for both warmth and lots of color. It truly looks like Mardi Gras time with a carnival flair. Very soft and fun to wear. Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers,mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN".
