Inspired by the impressionist painters a 40" over-the shoulder strap & a 6x8 " felted bag became my 'canvas' for a Van Gogh sunflower still life. Van Gogh began painting a series of sunflower oils in 1888. Sunflowers were his flower of choice. He wanted to decorate his studio with sunflowers. A series of Van Gogh paintings in 1888 is identified only as 'Sunflowers'. This knitted/felted/embroidered/needlefelt... bag is lovely & fun. A wet felted ball is attached to the zippered closure & the fashion fabric lining coordinates with the colors in the stilllife. Enjoy my attempt at a Van Gogh still life-'Sunflowers'. Thanks for stopping by.

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers, mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN". My theme bags/totes are exciting to create but I have other artistic creations that I will enjoy sharing with you. Thank You for stopping by. Patricia Maxwell
