A brilliant deep orange-red yarn knitted into this fun bag with its forty inch over-the-shoulder strap. After knitting & felting the pieces are cut and hand stitched to create this one-of-a-kind knitted, felted, hand-embroidered, needelfelted bag with French knots around the top exterior edge & small shells attached to look like jingles on a tambourine. I needelfelted the flower to the front and then placed a brilliant purple & silver fashion button in the center. I hand-stitched purple & orange metallic seed beads embellishing the flower's edges. The over-the-shoulder strap has an embroidered chain stitch with gorgeous yarn in rusts & purples which accent the orange-red bag. A zipper closure has a wet felted ball attached for ease in opening & the interior is lined with a fun fashion fabric. A perfect bag for anytime and holds smalls items in a lovely way. Enjoy my Gypsy Tambourine Felted Bag (6" w/8"h/).

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers, mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN". My theme bags/totes are exciting to create but I have other artistic creations that I will enjoy sharing with you. Thank You for stopping by. Patricia Maxwell
