(Fabric Design)

Book Carrier (recycled materials) This delightful book cover with handles is created from recycled fabric & lace. Exterior pocket for pens & notepad on the front is embellished with ribbon & lace. It is amazing what one can design/create from fabrics (dresses, blankets, bedding) which are no longer used but have potential for other creations/ memory making. This will be used in a wedding for bridesmaids gift books & scrapbooking mementoes from the wedding preparations & bridal shower photos. Let your mind wander & you will think of a myriad of uses for these lovely book carriers. A ribbon bookmark is sewn inside the layers of fabric & lovely ribbon & lace closure secures the book with velcro & embellishes the book carrier front along with ribbon & flower embellishments. This was the bride's bed coverlet recycled for a bridesmaids gift.

Trendy or traditional ; pretty and petite are perfect adjectives for these gorgeous knitted , felted & needle felted bags. Until I have a bag in the works and complete it; I have never "FELT" this kind of passion for an art form which is not unique to this era but has been handed down though generations and has become more popular for bags, slippers, mittens, scarves and anything that can be knitted with the gorgeous wools on the market along with so many beautiful novelty yarns. I hope that you enjoy looking at my felted pieces as much as I enjoy the whole process from hand spun yarn to kettle dyeing to the final felting process it is a challenging and fulfilling artform. The process of needle felting adds decorative wool 'pictures' to my finished felted pieces & at times gives the piece a three dimentional look. It is a very rewarding process. I have used many mediums and this is one of my favorites because it is like 'PAINTING WITH YARN". My theme bags/totes are exciting to create but I have other artistic creations that I will enjoy sharing with you. Thank You for stopping by. Patricia Maxwell
