I WAS BLESSED with the ability to create tapestries.
I was born in Switzerland, at the heart of the Valais mountains. My profession as a nurse took me away from that imposing and dazzling landscape, and opened my mind to other values and other people. In 1968, because of my marriage I was also given French nationality. In December 1983 I stopped working. In April 1984, a series if events led me to learn to weave on the “basse-lisse” loom (horizontal loom), now I was free to use the stimulation of my rich human encounters to give birth to my sketches. My work as an “artiste lissière” is unusual in that when I create my tapestries, I weave the original copy myself (this copy is called “exemplaire d’artiste”, the Artist’s copy). May this short time in the company of my tapestries give you what I yearn to offer you: the dream that come from my heart.
