I love dyeing & embellishing natural fabrics such as silk, hemp, wool and rayon. Currently, I am using techniques like batik, pole wrapping, and block printing to create one of a kind designer fabrics. Some pieces are used to create totes, wearables, wall hangings or mixed media collages.
In the late 60's, I received education in fashion design at Rhode Island School of Design and since, have developed many skills through apprenticeship and independent study.
In Nov. of 1994, my first solo exhibit was hung at the Bernheim Gallery in Louisville, KY. The 20 piece exhibit of mixed media collages was entitled "Hangings By A Slender Thread". Since then, my work has hung in many venue and has been purchased by numerous clients throughout the United States and the world.
From 2001-2006, I served as The Master Fiber Artist in Louisville, Kentucky's apprentice program "Studio 2000" and was a member of the Kentucky State Artist Roster for 15 plus years. Please check out my artist blog and web page to see more work.
